International Day of Persons with Disabilities is a worldwide movement to help break down disability barriers and celebrate abilities.

“Enthusiasm is picking up for the Ontario ParaSport Winter Games and the International Day of Persons with Disability will bring even more awareness to ParaSport Ontario athletes and the upcoming games,” says Donna Clements, Tourism Business Development Officer, City of Brantford. “Committee members and volunteers have been working hard to ensure that every athlete, coach, manager, family member and friend receive the best welcome possible during their stay in the Tournament Capital of Ontario.”

“Volunteers are such an integral part of making this event successful,” says Russell Press, Coordinator of Tourism & Development, County of Brant. “It’s amazing to see the commitment from so many people across our communities who want to help make this the best Ontario ParaSport Winter Games yet.”

Residents and visitors are invited to join the celebration with Games Mascot, Pachi, at the Brant Sports Complex that begins at 12:00 p.m. ParaSport Ontario athletes will provide demonstrations in sitting volleyball and sledge hockey. Information and equipment will be on-hand for boccia, goalball, and archery. The official welcome takes place at 12:30 p.m. with a free public skate from 1:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
