2021 Public Art Maintenance

The Economic Development & Tourism Department is responsible for the annual maintenance of the City of Brantford’s Public Art Collection. Public art is often at risk of damage by the environment and/or human interaction with the pieces. Specifically, factors that affect the City’s bronze monuments include humidity, UV light, acid rain, poor water drainage, proximity to city streets, and public use.

Introducing Brantford’s Interactive Film StoryMap

The Economic Development and Tourism Department is pleased to share the creation of a Film StoryMap. Using ArcGIS Technology, Tourism staff created an interactive map that highlights all the film, television and commercial productions that have filmed in Brantford.

December’s Featured Artist is Ronald Beckett, a composer best known for founding the musical production company, Arcady.
Beckett has had numerous compositions performed by ensembles throughout Ontario. He has written three operas that constitute a trilogy: Ruth, John, and I Am, all of which have bene given fully-staged performances by Arcady and Queens Student Opera.
