To coincide with the launch of Discover Brantford’s beautiful new website, the Tourism division is also pleased to share the creation of a Public Art StoryMap. Using ArcGIS Technology, the Tourism division created an interactive map that highlights all seventeen pieces in the City of Brantford’s Public Art Collection.

The Brantford Symphony Orchestra’s (BSO) Annual Book Fair is a valuable fundraiser for the nonprofit organization and a beloved Brantford event. Usually taking place annually in April, it’s a sign of spring for this devote bookworm and a cue to stock up on some well-loved good reads in time for the warmer weather. Last year the event was cancelled as result of COVID-19, so this year they are delivering the event virtually and in a new exciting auction format!

March’s Featured Artist is Dawn Bank, an oil painter who also specializes in dollhouse miniatures. Bank has been established in Brantford with her home-based business, One Lady’s Art Studio & Gallery, since 2010.

Bank spent the majority of her childhood growing up in Muskoka and Toronto. Bank says, “The thing I love most about Brantford are the numerous amount of trails to wander down. Coming from Toronto, there wasn’t much untouched greenspace to enjoy.”

The Brant Performing Arts (BPA) collective was formed in 2010 to provide mutual benefit for the City of Brantford and the County of Brant’s local non-profit performing arts organizations to share resources, network, and pursue shared marketing opportunities.
