The last Saturday of November usually brings a sort of Christmas kick-off to the City of Brantford as thousands make the journey down to Dalhousie Street to watch or participate in the Santa Claus Parade put on by JCI Brantford. The Salvation Army’s Community Christmas Hamper Program serves individuals and families who are on a limited income and need a hand up this holiday season. This year, in order to help ensure the safety of both volunteers and recipients, the Salvation Army will be running a Gift Card Drive.

Earlier this month, the provincial government announced that it would invest $9 million through the new Reconnect Festival and Event Program to support municipalities and event organizers during COVID-19.
