October’s Featured Artist is Nathan (Nate) Balog, a Brantford metal artist and the owner of Nate’s Custom Metal Worx.
Balog began working for a steel manufacturer in his early teens, where he learned basic welding techniques through trial and error. His biggest inspiration was his grandfather, Nicholas Balog, who could regularly be found working in his shop on different wood projects. “When I saw how he could build anything…” Nathan recalls, “…I wanted to learn to do the same.”

World Champion Kaetlyn Osmond joins Brant Skating Club coaching team

Canada’s most decorated female singles skater is coming to Brantford. The 2018 World Champion Kaetlyn Osmond, winner of three Olympic medals and three national titles, has joined the Brant Skating Club and will be part of the coaching team this winter.

Eliza Bell’s Sketchbooks Restored

Four sketchbooks, along with various other personal items belonging to Eliza (nee Symonds) and Melville Bell – parents of Alexander Graham Bell, were donated to the Bell Homestead National Historic Site from the Dr. Mabel Grosvenor archives by her nieces and nephews in 2007.
