- Begin your adventure on one of Brantford’s 70km natural trails to hike, run or bike along. Many of Brantford’s historic sites are also located alongside these trails, or can be easily accessed from them. The Hub of Ontario Trails connects you to Hamilton, Port Dover, Cambridge and beyond.
- Look out for our Trail Mix Program which spans 10 kilometers, from the Hardy Road trail entrance to River Road/Dike Trail intersection. There are a total of ten playlists from local artists along the trail, each with three songs and approximately 10-12 minutes long, which allows the trail user to continue discovering local music during the duration of their hike.
- Follow the trails to Brant’s Crossing where you can enjoy river views or take the footbridge over the Grand River and continue on to view the beautiful flower displays at Lorne Park.
- Treat yourself to a nearby treat from OMG Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt, where they take “ordinary” to “extraordinary” with enormous, decadent and definitely Instagram-able delights. Try your favourite ice cream flavor made into a milkshake or indulge in the mini donuts.
- Two local restaurants are nearby, Maria’s Pizza West or Sammy’s Rec Room, offer delicious choices for takeout for the entire family. As you head back along the trails be on the lookout for paddlers on the Grand River, a unique experience you can book with area outfitters, Grand Experiences or Grand River Rafting Company.
