Last summer, you may have seen a giant purple bus travelling through Brantford with a film crew in tow. It was all part of the All-Round Champion television production from marblemedia, an award-winning global media company, which is now airing on TVO Kids. This exciting unscripted family-friendly show used many Brantford buildings and backdrops during production and we now get the chance to see the show in all its action.
Four of the ten competitions were filmed at Brantford locations last summer and it’s exciting to see our facilities and city landscapes used for the production. Viewers will recognize the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre, Brantford Skate Park at Brant’s Crossing, Brantford & District Civic Centre, Rotary Bike Park and sweeping shots taken high above the Lorne Bridge showcasing the beautiful Grand River.
All-Round Champion brings ten of North America’s best young athletes together to compete in the ultimate competition. But the twist…they won’t be competing in their own sports…they have to compete in each other’s! These talented and motivated athletes are competing in the following sports: BMX, Diving, Equestrian, Golf, Gymnastics, Kart Racing, Kayaking, Skateboarding, Swimming and Wakeboarding. Hosted by Canadian Olympic hurdler Perdita Felicien, each sport competition is coached by world-renowned sports stars and Olympians. Competitors are scored on skill, sportsmanship and improvement after each challenge and at the end of the series, one of the athletes will be crowned the All-Round Champion.
All-Round Champion airs on TVO Kids Wednesdays and Thursdays at 5:00 p.m. and you can catch past episodes on tvokidscom. Don’t miss this week’s episode where the athletes take on the next challenge of swimming which is filmed in the 25m pool at the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre. Best of luck to all the athletes…we enjoyed having you here.
