Arts Census Findings

picture with words inviting you to "the coach house" on january 18th at 7 pm

Join Arts Ecology of Brantford/Brant for a presentation of the findings of the Arts Census that was completed this past summer in Brant region. In addition, we will be conducting a visioning session as our researchers work to develop a strategic plan that outlines how we can put the results of the Census into action.

1. Arts Census Research Results Presentation (30 mins)
The Arts Census was conducted in Brant region during July and August 2022. It was completed by 70 local artists and creatives who contributed over 3,500+ points of data and 13,000 words in long-form. Our researchers will present the goals, methods, and results of the Arts Census, and how these results provide a view into the state of the arts in Brant region.

2. Strategic Plan Visioning Session (~1 hour)
The Arts Census identified many future visions that we see as opportunities to advance the priorities of our artists and arts organizations. Our researchers will conduct a Strategic Plan Visioning Session for the Arts in Brant Region to organize and model our collective actions over the coming months and years.

This visioning session will also serve as a call for individuals who are interested in joining us for future sessions that will be more focused on realizing specific action items. Some potential action items that were identified in the Census are: forming an Arts Council in Brant region, developing a digital arts hub (a la The Arty Crowd in Hamilton), and increasing brand strength and awareness of the arts in Brant region.

Format:

1. Introductions (5 mins)
2. Arts Census Research Results Presentation (30 mins)
3. Strategic Plan Visioning Session (~1 hour)
4. Building a Support Foundation (15 mins)

Location: Coachhouse at Glenhyrst Art Gallery
Date & Time: Jan 18, 2023 at 7:00pm to 9:00pm.

Please contact Wiktor Kulinski, Principal Researcher, Arts Ecology of Brantford/Brant, w@kulinski.ca if you would like to learn more about the project or the meeting. For more information, please visit www.artsecology.ca/arts-census.
