Bacon and eggs. Pancakes and waffles with maple syrup. Fluffy omelettes filled with fresh veggies and lots of gooey cheese. Yogurt parfaits topped with fresh fruit and granola. Breakfast food tastes delicious no matter what, but there’s just something about going out for breakfast or brunch that feels especially indulgent – that buttered toast with strawberry jam just doesn’t taste the same at home no matter how hard we try! If you’re looking for that delicious breakfast fix, look no further than Tourism Brantford’s staff favourite spots for your next morning meal.
Angel’s Diner | 125 King George Road, Brantford
This local staple is a staff favourite for their simple, consistent breakfast dishes that arrive hot and fresh to order every time. Kara Davey, Arts & Culture Development Officer, loves to keep it simple: “why mess with something that’s already so good just the way it is? Bacon and eggs!” Her favourites are the “Original” (eggs, toast, and bacon) and the Chocolate Chip Pancakes. If you can’t choose what breakfast item you want, consider taking Amber Kane, Corporate Tourism & Sponsorship Coordinator’s suggestion: The Temptation. Featuring eggs, bacon, sausage, home fries, French toast and regular toast, this is the “perfect meal for [her] indecisive foodie mind. I just love breakfast!”
If you’re looking for something a bit out of the ordinary, our Administrative Coordinator, Corrie Francis recommends their Breakfast Poutine, with home fries, gravy, bacon, hollandaise sauce, “cheese, cheese and more cheese.” She also loves their classic Eggs Benedict with a fruit boat on the side.
Kingswood | 43 Colborne Street West, Brantford
This west end favourite has been around since 1934, and you know that any restaurant that’s been around for that long has a very good reason. They are well loved by locals for their homemade comfort food and quaint ambiance, and a menu that caters to all appetites. If you’re extra hungry, this is the place to go for their Hungry Man Breakfast, which includes a choice of 2 meats (bacon, ham, sausage or bologna), 3 eggs, home fries, and 3 slices of toast.
Kel’s Family Restaurant | 241 Dunsdon Street, Brantford
Have you seen the Google reviews for Kel’s Family Restaurant – over 400 people have rated it over 4.5 stars! Sara Munroe, Manager of Tourism, Culture and Sport always looks for where the locals love to eat, and this is one of those places that you might not find without a recommendation.
In the Dunsdon Street plaza with another local-love, Luciani’s Pizza, this family style restaurant offers the classics, along with delicious frequently changing specials, at least 15 Eggs Benny options, and indulgent dishes like Strawberry Cheesecake French Toast. This is Aisha Godbout, 2021 Ontario 55+ Winter Games Coordinator’s favourite local breakfast spot. Her favourite is the French Connection (eggs, bacon, French toast, home fries, and beans) – “it’s delicious and I always leave full!”
Skyway Café and Catering (inside the Brantford Flight Centre at the Brantford Municipal Airport) | 110 Aviation Avenue, Brantford
Skyway Café is one of those hidden gems the Tourism Brantford team thinks you absolutely must discover! A family favourite for Ela Stypa Jones, Sport Tourism Coordinator, this restaurant offers fast, fresh, tasty breakfast made to order. Not only is the food delicious – Ela recommends ordering any dish that comes with their crispy home fries – it also has one of the best views in Brantford. While you eat, enjoy the planes taking off and landing on the runway!
Stacked Pancake & Breakfast House | 265 King George Road, Brantford
Based on its namesake, you can accurately expect that the pancakes at Stacked are incredible. This is Hilary Jackson, Tourism Counsellor’s, favourite breakfast place in Brantford because of their fresh and fluffy blueberry pancakes. Don’t forget to order a side of toast with whatever meal you choose, because you do not want to miss their homemade strawberry jam. If you love it as much as we do, then make sure to grab a jar to take home, too!
Sunset Grill | 218 Henry Street & 50 Market Street South, Brantford
Serving only breakfast, this proud Canadian franchise has two locations right here in town. Their menu is extensive, portion sizes are large, and service is fast and friendly. Our team member, Audrey Loch, Tourism Counsellor, goes to Sunset Grill for their build-your-own omelettes where she can choose whatever filling she’s craving. If you’d rather the chef choose your fillings, their classic omelettes menu includes specials like the Greek Omelette, Florentine Omelette, and Sunset Omelette, filled with Swiss cheese, peameal-style bacon and tomatoes.
