The Brant Museums & Galleries Association (BMGA) and The Heart of Ontario are inviting local residents and visitors to discover local museums from May to August 31, 2022. As part of May is Museum Month and celebrating May 18th as International Museums Day, the BMGA is launching the Brant Museum Passport. The purchase of a $5 passport grants the holder one-time access to ten participating museums and galleries in Brantford, the County of Brant and Six Nations of the Grand River.
Participating organizations in the passport include: Bell Homestead National Historic Site, Brant Museum and Archives, Brantford and Area Sports Hall of Recognition, Canadian Military Heritage Museum, Chiefswood National Historic Site, Glenhyrst Art Gallery of Brant, Her Majesty’s Royal Chapel of the Mohawks, Myrtleville House Museum, The Paris Museum and Historical Society and Woodland Cultural Centre.
Upon visiting the site, passport holders will get their passport stamped to gain admission to the location. Each destination is featured on a different page of the passport with a unique site-specific question per location. Visitors will have fun hunting for clues at each location to answer the question. Visitors are encouraged to submit their completed passports on the BMGA website for a chance to win a heritage gift basket.
Passports will be sold for $5 at The Brant Museum and Archives (57 Charlotte St.), Bell Homestead National Historic Site (94 Tutela Heights Rd.) and the Tourism Information Desk inside the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre (254 North Park St.)
Funding for this project was provided by the Heart of Ontario.
