Downtown Brantford’s food scene is rapidly growing with fun and exciting restaurants popping up all the time, it’s hard to know where to go! With an array of cuisines from all over the world, there is a restaurant for anything you might be craving! Below are a few staples of the downtown core restaurant scene as well as a few hidden gems. There are so many to pick from we may have to do a part two.
From Scratch, 42 George St.
It’s hard to believe From Scratch opened their doors in 2022 as it has become a staple in the downtown Branford food scene. The best thing about their menu? It changes every week, so there is always something new to try and so many reasons to come back. Each week features a Chef’s Menu with four rotating dishes, and a bagel menu – including a Bagel (sandwich) of the week – with 3 different rotating bagels and specialty cream cheeses.
Temptation Kitchen, 72 Colborne St. E.
Temptation Kitchen is a restaurant and event space specializing in gourmet waffles. It is the first restaurant of its kind to sell Savory Waffle Sandwiches, Gourmet Meal Waffles, Wacky Dessert Waffles, and other innovative desserts. Discover new and exciting food that will make you feel like a kid again or make waffles a staple part of your diet. Who would have thought that you could have waffles for breakfast, lunch, and dinner?
Hudson Public House, 93 Dalhousie St.
Hudson Public is in the heart of Downtown Brantford, right next door to the picturesque Harmony Square and across from the Sanderson Centre for the Performing Arts. Their vast food and drink menu will satisfy all your tastes and preferences and feel like your home-cooked meal away from home.
The Chinese Sisters Restaurant,120 Colborne St.
The Chinese Sisters Restaurant opened at 120 Colborne St. in 2016 and the menu features healthy and authentic recipes from her mother’s kitchen. They use nothing but natural flavors without preservatives and the freshest local ingredients to create authentic Chinese cuisine.
Zaiika Indian Cuisine, 46 Dalhousie St.
Zaiika Indian Cuisine serves exceptional Indian food made with quality ingredients at affordable prices. We recommend making a reservation if you’re planning on dining in or call ahead if you’re looking for take-out. Make sure to try out a few of their delicious appetizers, especially the Onion Bhajia!
Nine North, 86 Dalhousie St.
The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner every day, and with a variety of gluten-friendly and vegetarian options available, they have something for everyone to enjoy!
Their most popular dishes include Chicken Pad Thai and the Rice Combo, but we also recommend trying out their Pho Bo Kho or Red Curry with your choice of protein.
The Rose and Thistle, 48 Dalhousie St.
A pub with a British vibe and an atmosphere where you can enjoy a night of karaoke with friends and finish off with a good burger.
