Blog_2020.09.24.Brantford Parks

Did you know that Brantford has over 1,000 acres of park land? With that much space to explore, there will be snow on the ground before you can visit all the spaces the city offers and maintains for outdoor recreation. From playgrounds to splash pads, soccer fields, gardens and green wooded areas, there’s plenty to enjoy.

Community Parks

Brantford has five community parks. Visit historic Brant’s Crossing and walk along the trail or let your dog run free at Dogford Park. Try yoga in the park at Mohawk Park or have a picnic or lounge in the shade provided by the park's mature trees. Rotary Centennial Waterworks Park also offers a green space, sports fields and a bike park.

Neighbourhood Parks

With sixty-nine neighbourhood parks located throughout the city, you’re almost guaranteed to find one within walking distance of your home. Most feature a kid-friendly playground and have additional features that you can read about by visiting City of Brantford’s Parks and Playgrounds page. Be sure to check out the numerous locations that feature inclusive and accessible playground equipment and those that connect to Brantford's trails for even more adventure.

Horticultural Parks

There are twenty-one horticultural parks located throughout the city. These are fabulous spaces to relax and take in the many impressive displays of public art or colourful flowers. Find the full list on the Parks and Playgrounds page.

Sports Parks

If getting outside means playing sports, then these locations are for you. Find soccer fields at D’Aubigny Park, George Campbell Park, Jaycee Sports Park or John Wright Soccer Complex. Bill Little Park and Cockshutt Park are two of several locations with baseball diamonds and you can find running tracks at Kiwanis Field-Pauline Johnson Collegiate or Steve Brown Sports Complex. You can also venture indoors for some ice hockey or swimming at Wayne Gretzky Sport Centre.

Woodlots and Open Spaces

The city also maintains ten natural green spaces where residents can walk in peaceful nature and enjoy mature trees along natural trails or footpaths.

Where will you visit first?
