Brantwood Farms Corn Maze

Brantwood Farms Fall Fair
When: Every Saturday and Sunday in October, including Thanksgiving Monday. 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Last entry at 4 p.m.
Where:  Brantwood Farms, 251 Powerline Rod., Brantford
Fee: $15/person, ages 23 months and up. Season Pass: $38. Admission includes all events except Pony Rides (+$5) and Train Rides (+$3). Pick Your Own apples and pumpkins also available.

Fall'in in Love with Local Market

Where: 10B Edmondson St, in the parking lot of Lettuce Live
Join Lettuce Live for their Fall'in in Love with Local Market on October 1. Attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable item(s) to be donated to BL's Little Pantry for the holidays ​​​​​​. Holmedale Art Crawl
When: Sunday, October 2, 2022, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Where: Holmedale Neighbourhood. 24 different locations, featuring 44 artisans.
The Holmedale Art Crawl is an annual self-guided art crawl in Brantford’s Holmedale neighborhood featuring talented local artisans and makers. There are typically two art crawls per year, in the spring and fall. For more information and a full list of vendors, visit holmedaleartcrawl.ca.

Scare in the Square
When: Friday, October 7, 5 p.m. to 10 p.m and Saturday, October 8, 12 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Where:  Harmony Square, 89 Dalhousie Street, Brantford
Fee: Most events are free!
Brantford turns into a spook-tacular place filled with fall and Halloween themed events. Activities include trick-or-treating, live music, Haunted House, Escape Rooms, Zombie Survival Run, Ghost Hunts, Halloween Roller Skate presented by West Brant Window World, Casper’s Craft Corner, HOWL-o-ween Dog Parade presented by Global Pet Foods, costume contests, and more! Take your photo with scarecrow and pumpkin carving displays throughout the square. On Saturday, bring a food donation for the Brantford Food Bank to receive your free trick-or-treat bag, while supplies last.  All activities are free unless otherwise listed. Tickets are available to purchase at the Harmony Square office located in Harmony Square or at Mohawk Park. Free shuttle bus rides are also available between Harmony Square and Mohawk Park activities. Please contact Brantford Lift for accessible shuttle services.

Anne of Green Gables – The Ballet
When: Wednesday, October 12, 7 p.m. – 9 p.m.
Where: Sanderson Centre, 88 Dalhousie St., Brantford
Fee: Tickets are $44 and can be purchased online at sandersoncentre.ca
A ballet based on the beloved Canadian novel by Lucy Maud Montgomery, we follow the adventures of Anne Shirley, an orphan girl sent to live on a farm in the fictional town of Avonlea, Prince Edward Island.

Brantford Music Club presents Soprano Julia Surette
When: Friday, October 14, 2022, 7:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
Where: Sanderson Centre, 88 Dalhousie St., Brantford
Fee: Adult $30, Student $10. Tickets can be purchased online at sandersoncentre.ca.|
The first concert in the Canadian Artists Series.  Local soprano Julia Surette has prepared a fantastical spooky concert for the Halloween season! “The Super♮ Soprano” will feature art song and opera arias that explore the supernatural! Come enjoy the passionate, mystical, and bizarre portrayed through fairytales, tragedies, cabarets, and Shakespearean works.

Lawren Harris Walk
When: Saturday, October 15, 10:30 a.m.
Where: Starting at the M.Chandler Heritage House at W. Ross MacDonald School
Fee: Admission is free for Brant Historical Society members. $5 for non-members.
Learn about Canadian artist and Group of Seven founder Lawren Harris and his early life in Brantford. Walk will be approx. 75 minutes. 

Love Someone – An Intimate Evening with Johnny Reid
When: Sunday, October 16, 8 p.m. – 10 p.m.
Where: Sanderson Centre, 88 Dalhousie St., Brantford
Fee: $70-$80. Tickets can be purchased online at sandersoncentre.ca

The critically acclaimed singer is widely known for his lyrical honesty and musical ability, as demonstrated by a vast catalogue of hit songs, platinum selling albums, 26 Canadian Country Music Awards, six JUNO Awards and multiple sold-out national arena tours. Don’t miss this rare stripped back performance in an intimate setting. Opener: Dharma Bizier as "Maggie".

The Mush Hole by Santee Smith; tour remount by Kaha:wi Dance Theatre
When: Wednesday, October 19, 10 a.m. – 11 a.m.
Where: Sanderson Centre, 88 Dalhousie St., Brantford
Fee: $15. Tickets can be purchased online at sandersoncentre.com.
The Mush Hole is a theatrical dance performance about truths of Canada’s first Indian residential school - The Mohawk Institute. From 1828-1970, State and Church attempted to forcefully assimilate children from Six Nations and surrounding First Nations into Euro-Christian society and sever the continuity of culture from parent to child. The Mush Hole weaves through the traumatic memories of two generations of Survivors. Visceral performances by an all Indigenous cast, cinematic imagery and musical score, catapult audiences into the bricks and mortar of the school. Created from Survivors testimonials, it is a story about hope and finding light in dark places.  

Ill Abilities
When: Thursday, October 20, 2022
Where: Sanderson Centre, 88 Dalhousie St., Brantford
Fee: Tickets $12-$15. Tickets can be purchased online at sandersoncentre.ca.
No Excuses / No Limits will take the audience on a journey of each dancers story with dance, music, audience interaction and the understanding of limitless possibilities that any person can overcome.

Great Canadian ButterTart Festival and Paris Market Trail
When: Saturday, October 1, 2022, 4 p.m. - 10 p.m.
Where: Paris Fairgrounds, 139 Silver St., Paris
Artisans, fire performers, scare zone selfies, live music, food, beer garden and more!
Fee: $10 (cash only at the gate). Children 12 and under free. 

Chinese Community Heritage Walk
When: Saturday, October 22, 202, 2:30 p.m. and 4 p.m.
Where: Starting at the Brant Museum & Archives, 57 Charlotte Street, Brantford
Fee: Free for Brant Historical Society members. $5.00 for non-members.  

Tomb Sweeping – Memories of Brantford’s Chinese Community
When: Saturday, October 22, 2022, 7 p.m.
Where: Stephen Fun Theatre
Fee: By donation. Register at branttheatre.ca.
This is a production in association with the Immigrant Memories of Brantford series. A unique look at Brantford's Chinese community directed by Peter Muir. Performed by Nicole Ao, Brett Miller, Hao Pan, Joshua Yang, Mari Reeve-Newson. Stage Management by Cole Hill and Dramaturgy by Sharyl Hudson.

Ghost Encounters – Haunted Hayride and Barn
When: Saturday, October 22, Sunday, October 23, Friday, October 28 and Saturday, October 29. Stars at dusk and runs until 11 p.m.
Where: Brantwood Farms, 251 Powerline Road, Brantford
Fee: Haunted Hayride, $10. Haunted Barn, $5. Food and beverages also available for purchase.

E.T. – The Extra-Terrestrial
When:  Sunday, October 23, 2022, 3 p.m. - 4p.m.
Where: Sanderson Centre, 88 Dalhousie Street, Brantford
Fee: $9/person, or $7/person for the series. Tickets can be purchased online at sandersoncentre.ca. 
Produced and directed by Steven Spielberg and written by Melissa Mathison, E.T. the Extra-Terrestial tells the story of Elliott, a boy who befriends an extraterrestrial dubbed E.T., who is left behind on Earth. Along with his friends and family, Elliott must find a way to help E.T return home while avoiding the government.

Shakespearience
When: Monday, October 24, 2022, 10:30 a.m.
Where: Sanderson Centre, 88 Dalhousie St., Brantford

Join Shakespeare's men as they fly through Macbeth, Romeo & Juliet and Twelfth Night in a whirlwind hour of mischievous storytelling. With tons of audience interaction, more than a dash of mayhem and a star turn from one lucky adult, Shakespearience is the perfect treat!

Fleetwood Nicks and Practically Petty Tribute in support of Lansdowne Children’s Centre Foundation
When: Tuesday, October 25, 2022, 7:30 p.m.

Join Canada’s #1 Tribute to Fleetwood Mac and Tom Petty in support of Lansdowne Children's Centre Foundation. This show exudes the mystique and charm of both famous artists, in a stunning recreation of some of the world’s most popular music. Backed by seasoned industry professionals, and using the same equipment as these legends, this is a show you will not want to miss!

Men of the Deeps
When: Wednesday, October 26, 2022, 2 p.m.
Where: Sanderson Centre, 88 Dalhousie Street, Brantford

Back by popular demand the Men of the Deeps, Cape Breton’s beloved choral ensemble, returns for its first Ontario tour in three years. North America’s only coal miners’ choir will provide its usual audience-winning combination of songs and stories from the mines, specially written songs by Nova Scotia songwriters, as well as a number of selections from its new recording.

Menopause: The Musical
When: Thursday, October 27, 2022, 7:30 p.m.
Where: Sanderson Centre, 88 Dalhousie Street, Brantford

Come see what millions of women worldwide, have been laughing, cheering and raving about for years!  Set in a department store, four women with nothing in common, realize they have a lot more to share, than they ever thought possible!  The Canadian All -Star Cast makes fun of hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings, wrinkles, not enough sex, too much sex, chocolate binges and much more! “Menopause” is hysterical & leaves you singing & dancing in the aisles.  A brilliant comedy staged to 25 Classic Hits from the ’60s, ’70s and ’80s.

Mystery & Mayhem Walking Tour
When: Thursday, October 27, 2022 at 7:00pm and Friday, October 29, 2022 at 7:00pm
Where: Brant Museum and Archives, 57 Charlotte Street, Brantford
Fee: Admission is free for Brant Historical Society members. $10 for non-members.
Brantford’s history includes some strange stories, suitable for this mysterious time of year. 

Classic Albums Live performs Pink Floyd – The Wall
When: Friday, October 28, 2022, 8 p.m.
Where: Sanderson Centre, 88 Dalhousie Street, Brantford
Fee: $35/person. Tickets can be purchased online at sandersoncentre.ca.
Founded in 2003, Classic Albums Live takes the greatest albums and recreates them live on stage - note for note, cut for cut, using the best musicians. Forgoing costumes and impersonations, Classic Albums Live has found success in concentrating solely on the music. They don’t dress up or wear any sort of costume. They just stand there and play, putting all of their energy into the music so the performance sounds exactly like the album.

The Brantford Symphony Orchestra presents The Classical Violin with Guest Lara St. John

Internationally renowned Canadian-born Violinist Lara St. John kicks off one the Brantford Symphony’s most exciting seasons ever. Lara has appeared with major orchestras across North America and around the world, has been featured in People magazine, US News and World Report, CNN, and CBC, earned rave reviews from prestigious Dailies, and is a Member of the Order of Canada. Ms. St. John will perform Mozart’s Violin Concerto #5 in A +. Also on the program is another Mozart masterpiece - the “Jupiter Symphony”. 

Murderville at Myrtleville House
When: Saturday, October 29, 2022, 6  p.m. - 9 p.m.
Where: Myrtleville House Museum, 34 Myrtleville Dr, Brantford
The Myrtleville & Mayfair Neighbourhood Association has partnered with the Brant Historical Society for a family-friendly Halloween event. Walk the Myrtleville grounds and dare to enter the haunted house. Enjoy multiple scare zones (optional), junior section, pumpkin patch,- graveyard, and much more! Costumes are encouraged. Treats will be handed out at the entrance while supplies last. 

Hallowee’en Fun Fair at the Bell Homestead National Historic Site
When: Sunday, October 30, 2022, 12 p.m. – 3 p.m.
Where: Bell Homestead, 94 Tutela Heights Road, Brantford
Fee: Admission is by donation
Join us for this family-friendly old fashion penny carnival. Come in costume or just as you are to play spooktacular games, have your face painted or fortune told, or take a pony and wagon ride.  At 12:30 p.m. join Little Ray’s Reptile Zoo for an amazing show in our Visitor’s Centre.
