The City of Brantford and the County of Brant recently announced that the Ontario 55+ Winter Games that were to be jointly hosted in Brantford and the County of Brant have been postponed to 2022. The Games were to be held from February 11 to 13, 2021. The City of Brantford and the County of Brant are currently working with the Province to select a new date for the event.

In September 2020, the City of Brantford and the County of Brant approved a motion to submit a request to postpone the Ontario 55+ Winter Games to the office of the Hon. Lisa MacLeod, Minister of Heritage, Sport, Tourism and Culture Industries, given the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and restrictions regarding large gatherings.

The Ontario 55+ Winter Games is a celebration of active living held every other year in February with approximately 800 to 1,100 athletes and officials taking part in three days of competition featuring ten to twelve different sports. More details will be posted on the brantfordbrantgames2021.ca when available.
