Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre

Brantford is home of the Great One, and we would remiss if we didn’t mention the facility with his namesake. The WGSC is Brantford’s primary sports and leisure facility for over 40 years! The facility boasts a 4 pad arena, 65m and 25m pools, and 150 ft water slide. It’s also the home to the Brantford & Area Sports Hall of Recognition, Lookout Lounge restaurant, and much more. Visit the Sports Hall to take a selfie of you and your favourite local sports hero, snap a picture of a family member of friend flying out of the slide, or pose beside “The Great One” —the incredible monument of Wayne and his family out front of the Centre. Find Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre on Google Maps

Brantford Municipal Airport

This may seem like an odd one, but trust us, it’s worth it. If you haven’t visited our municipal airport before, you’re missing out! Visit The Skyway Café for a tasty meal and watch as the countless small planes land and take off. It’s a great spot to take your kids as it will entertain them for hours. You also may want to look into a night out with your friends or date night here on one of their three Sunset, Wine and Cheese nights throughout the summer. It’s entertainment, food and scenery all in one! Find the Brantford Municipal Airport on Google Maps

Harmony Square

Harmony Square is a popular gathering place located in the heart of the city’s downtown core at 89 Dalhousie St., Brantford. The Square is host to numerous FREE events and programs throughout the year, boasts an outdoor skating rink in the winter and a splash pad in the summer. It’s home to two of our city’s annual signature events: Frosty Fest (over Family Day weekend) and the Chilli Willy Cook-Off (end of February). This summer, it’s also welcoming back The True North Beer Festival on June 22. It’s a great spot to relax with your lunch and check out the bustling downtown activity. Find Harmony Square on Google Maps

Grand Wellness Centre

Brantford’s Grand Wellness Centre is a place where you can relax, refresh, and restore yourself in its rustic, riverside oasis. Located inside the converted heritage building that once housed many manufacturing companies and a nearby brewery, Grand Wellness Centre offers a serene ambiance and comfortable place to unwind. The beautiful spa is the perfect place to take a few photos, but you might be too busy relaxing to remember to do so. Find Grand Wellness Centre on Google Maps

Bell Homestead National Historic Site

Visit the Brantford home where Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone on July 25, 1874. Here you will see how the Bell family lived and worked. You will learn about how Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone and see how the telephone has changed since then. There are a wide variety of activities and special events to enjoy year-round including: tours, café and museum store, drop-in activities, and much more. Take photos in the historic spot where the inventor himself once stood, and enjoy the sights and sounds of the nearby Grand River. Find the Bell Homestead National Historic Site on Google Maps

Lorne Park/Lorne Bridge

Did you know that in 1995 Brantford represented Ontario and placed first in the “Blooming Best” competition for cities with a population between 30,000 and 100,000? Brantford then went on to gain more prestigious horticulture recognition in the two consecutive years that followed. It’s from this recognition that Brantford received the nickname, “Best Blooming City.” Lorne Park is undoubtedly one of the reasons Brantford received this title.  It’s sprawling lawns and gorgeous, colourful gardens are a welcoming, peaceful view in downtown Brantford. It’s the perfect spot for a bike ride or picnic lunch, and of course to snap a few photos along the way. Find Lorne Park on Google Maps

Since 1972 the Woodland Cultural Centre has been a leader in Indigenous excellence. Walk the beautifully manicured lawns surrounding the property, or book a tour and visit the museum or browse the galleries. You’ll learn a ton about the history, language and culture of the Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee peoples, and be in awe of the preserved sights. Find Woodland Cultural Centre on Google Maps
