Today, we’re travelling the globe with our taste buds and heading downtown to discover a few restaurants that are serving spectacular dishes from Taiwan, China, Vietnam, Thailand, India and more. There are so many more restaurants in Brantford to discover, visit our Tourism Directory to plan your next takeout trip.
We’re starting our takeout adventure at Moon Tea, Brantford’s newest bubble tea spot. Moon Tea opened in downtown Brantford in early 2020 and serves bubble tea, also called “boba tea” or “pearl milk tea”. This delicious beverage originated in Taiwan but is now popular all over the world. You can stop in the store, place an order through Uber Eats or call 519-753-9088 to place an order for pick-up. We recommend their signature Brown Sugar Tapioca with Milk Tea.
In 2019, Candy Yang moved to Brantford from her hometown of Kai Li, China to attend school. As a student, she missed home, her siblings and the traditional Chinese cuisine they would cook and enjoy together. She initially started cooking for herself and friends in Brantford, but soon envisioned sharing her food and culture with everyone in the community. The Chinese Sisters Restaurant opened at 120 Colborne St. in 2020 and the menu features healthy and authentic recipes from her mother’s kitchen. Everything on their menu is spectacular and we highly recommend pre-ordering one of their mousse cakes for dessert. These works of art are made of chocolate mousse and come shaped like a sleeping bear or a puppy. Check out this YouTube video to learn more about The Chinese Sisters Restaurant.
Located in downtown Brantford beside the Sanderson Centre for the Performing Arts, Nine North is an authentic Viet-Thai restaurant that offers a variety of delicious dishes that will keep you coming back for more. Vegetarians and those who need to avoid gluten will feel right at home as their menu specifies which dishes cater to specific dietary needs. We recommend trying their flavourful Pho Bo Kho, a beef noodle stew that’s slow cooked to perfection, or their Cashew Nut Stir Fry that’s simmered in a delicious orange and pineapple sauce.
Opened during the summer of 2020 in downtown Brantford, Sip ‘N Dine offers authentic Indian dishes like their fan-favourite Butter Chicken, Chicken Biryani and Goat Curry, as well as unique takes on Indian-Canadian dishes such as a Samosa Poutine, Spicy Paneer Burger and even pizza and wings. Pair your meal with a refreshing Mango Lassi and pick up an order of Gulab Jamun for dessert.
