City’s New Year’s Eve free event to move indoors to Sanderson Centre.
With rain in the forecast on Saturday December 31, 2022, the City’s “Brantford Times Square in Harmony Square” event on New Year’s Eve will move indoors to the Sanderson Centre for the Performing Arts from 9:30 p.m. to Midnight 12 a.m.
The full roster of musical performances will take place indoors along with the festive ball drop countdown. Attendance will be free general admission and entrance will be first come first serve. Doors will open at 8:30 p.m. and upon entry, attendees will receive free party favours to celebrate the arrival of 2023. A free photo booth will also be available in the lobby to commemorate the event with family and friends.
“Planning an outdoor event at this time of year calls for flexibility and the ability to pivot, when necessary,” said Jennifer Middleton, the City’s Community Events Coordinator. We are so fortunate to have a beautiful indoor venue like the Sanderson Centre in the heart of our downtown where we can still host this event and welcome 2023 as a community.”
Dalhousie Street entrance doors of the Sanderson Centre will open at 8:30 p.m. General seating will be available at a first come first serve basis. There will be a cash bar available and free public transit to and from the event. The City reminds attendees to plan ahead, enjoy responsibly and not to drink and drive.
Free parking is available downtown on December 31 and January 1 and at the Market Centre Parkade, located at 59 Icomm Drive. Free transit services will be available on New Year's Eve from 9:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. on January 1, 2023. The main Transit Terminal is located at 64 Darling Street, just a few steps from Sanderson Centre.
