It's back to school week and Tourism Brantford is rolling out the welcome mat to all new and returning students from Conestoga College, Wilfrid Laurier University and Six Nations Polytechnic.
Although Frosh Week may look a little different this year, there are still plenty of places that you can safely visit to help you get a feel for your new community. Each day this week, we'll be sharing new, helpful information for students - from fun facts about Brantford to the best places in the city to shop.
We know how hard it can be to find time to exercise, so before your schedule fills up, we recommend planning some fun recreational activities. The Laurier Brantford YMCA and the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre have both reopened - simply book your workout/class/aquatics time slots online in advance. If outdoor workouts are more of your thing, paddling down the Grand River is a quintessential Brantford experience, not to mention a phenomenal stress reliever. Grand River Rafting and Grand Experiences are both located nearby and offer a variety of rentals including kayaks, canoes, stand up paddleboards and turbo tubes.
If you want to plan your own Brantford adventure, stop by the Brantford Visitor & Tourism Centre located at 399 Wayne Gretzky Parkway (near the Lynden Park Mall) and our Tourism Counsellors can help answer any questions you have. You can pick up free guidebooks, brochures and maps, or browse Brantford branded merchandise including sweatshirts, t-shirts, golf shirts, hats, bags, postcards, water bottles, and mugs.
Don't forget to follow Tourism Brantford on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for more insider information about your new city. Welcome to Brantford!
