Where To Find Carnival Treats in Brantford

Blog_funnel-cake

Each year, once the chill in the air starts, we bundle up in layers and check out our favourite fall carnivals and fairs. Although this year is a bit different, we can still indulge in some of our favourite carnival treats right here in Brantford. From cotton candy to caramel apples, to funnel cake and corn dogs, these treats are a staple of the autumn season, and will transport you back to the fall fairs that we’re all missing this season.

Candy Clouds | 9 Peel St., Brantford

Contact Candy Clouds to call in an order (6 minimum, except for some no-minimum days advertised on their Facebook page) for your favourite carnival treats, like cotton candy and candy apples. They offer candy apples in flavours like cherry, blue raspberry, grape, and strawberry, all with their own bright, colourful hue. The cotton candy flavour combinations are endless, and make a great Halloween porch drop-off surprise.

Carnival Eats & Treats | 20 Grey Street, Brantford

This brand new carnival food shop is the nostalgia of your dreams. Offering curbside pickup and delivery, Carnival Eats & Treats offers a wide range of sweet and savoury dishes for a full meal or an indulgent dessert. Enjoy nachos and cheese, corn dogs, or a Midway Burger (bacon, cheese, lettuce and tomato), and finish off with candy floss, caramel or candy apples, caramel corn, or a twirl pop sucker. Who needs the midway when you can get all of these delicious carnival staples in one place? Follow Carnival Eats & Treats on Facebook for regular updates. Tip: reduce your bill by picking up your order yourself; Carnival Eats & Treats offers a 15% discount on pick up orders.

Le Chocolat du Savoie | 320 Colborne Street West, Suite 5 & 270 King George Road, Brantford

What’s better than a freshly-dipped caramel apple? What about a freshly dipped caramel apple that is dipped again – in Belgian chocolate! Enjoy this indulgent snack at Le Chocolat du Savoie, and pick up some chocolate dipped Oreos, licorice, marshmallows, or pretzels while you’re there.

Lonnie’s on Market | 42 Market Street, Brantford

By now, you’ve probably already heard about Lonnie’s; the Tourism Brantford team has a soft spot for this place, especially their poutines! Lonnie’s sells some of your favourite late night snacks, and some of their carnival-themed menu items are local favourites. Enjoy a chili cheese dog, corn dogs, or a huge platter of loaded nachos. Finish off with a couple of scoops of ice cream, or grab a traditional red or cotton candy apple for dessert.

Lil’ Louie’s Eats & Sweets | 1146 Colborne Street

Lil’ Louie’s is one of those hidden gems that we’re thankful so many people are discovering over the past few months. This small trailer-style restaurant offers your staple burgers and fries, as well as one of our very favourite carnival snacks – funnel cakes! From a basic funnel cake with powdered sugar and whipped cream, to a signature Neopolitan funnel cake with 3 layers of funnel cake; chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry ice cream; and chocolate, butterscotch, and strawberry sauce, you can either indulge a little… or a lot!

Looking for more information on Brantford’s best poutine? Of course you are. Check out our “Where’s the Best Poutine in Brantford?” blog post for a round up on some of our favourites.
