Your guide to Doors Open Along the Grand

This Saturday, May 10, 2025, the Grand River will come alive for Doors Open Along the Grand. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., come celebrate and explore 15+ unique heritage buildings and sites spanning Brantford, the County of Brant, and Six Nations of the Grand River, free of charge. While most locations will be offering self-guided tours, a few locations will require pre-boking tours or have specific entry guidelines.

Sites that require a pre-booked tour

• Bell Homestead National Historic Site: pre-book your tour by email (bellhomestead@brantford.ca) or by calling 519-756-6220. Space is limited. Will be closed from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.

Sites offering self-guided tours

• Brantford and Area Sports Hall of Recognition  
• The Arlington Hotel
• Syl Apps Community Centre: the community centre will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., but the museum will only be open from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Sites offering guided tours, no pre-booking required

• Adelaide Hunter Hoodless Homestead
• Brantford Flight Centre
• Brantford Greenhouses, Parks & Recreation Operations Facility  
• Brantford Public Library, Main Branch: open 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. only
• Former Cockshutt Moulded Aircraft Ltd.  
• Chiefswood National Historic Site
• Creek View Acres Nursery & Orchard: guided tours at 11 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
• His Majesty’s Royal Chapel of the Mohawks
• The Howell Block: tours of St. George Memorial Hall at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m.; walking tours of downtown St. George at 2 p.m. and 3 p.m.
• Onondaga Community Hall
• Salt Springs Church
• St. Paul’s Chapel

• Woodland Cultural Centre
