A beautiful collection of second-hand home decor items

Tell us a little about yourself:

I bought my first home, a century old duplex, here in Brantford three years ago and threw myself into the world of DIY and design. Growing up around renovation projects all my life, I was excited to finally implement and expand on my learnings as a kid in my very own space. In the process, I started documenting my journey on Instagram in hopes to teach, inspire and entertain others along the way.

My love for home décor and vintage flair motivated me to open up my own online home décor Market, filled with pre-loved, vintage and antique pieces that are restored and curated with new love.

Brantford is filled with stunning architecture and heritage and I often find myself referring to it when designing my space with similar character!

What are some of your favourite hidden gems in downtown Brantford?

Dufferin Ave and surrounding area - I absolutely ADORE going for walks in this neighbourhood. Bundle up, pour yourself a hot beverage to-go and admire the beautiful architecture of the homes here.

Home Hardware Brantford - This might not seem like a “hidden” gem but it’s worthy of mentioning! I spend A LOT of time in home improvement stores because of my renovations and I 100% stand by the claim that this is my favourite. They are super knowledgeable, extremely helpful and overall the most friendly experience you will ever have in a hardware store!

Modo Yoga Brantford + Coffee Culture - There is something so relaxing about finishing a hot yoga class led by the most calming instructors and following it up with a hot beverage at the café next door. The owners of both these spots are so passionate about what they do and how they can support their community. I love this combination!

Beautiful architecture can be found in the neighbourhoods surrounding Dufferin Ave.

Do you have any favourite local makers or artisans?

Alyssa’s Apothecary combines both of my favourite things: thrifting and candles! Alyssa creates custom candles (that smell heavenly!) in thrifted vessels for a unique and one-of-a-kind statement piece in your home. Wylde Rose Handmade Soaps has the cutest array of soaps, bath salts and bath bombs that make for perfect gifts! ZBTFD creates custom apparel for many local businesses and community members. I have worked with them to create custom shirts as gifts before and their products and attention to detail is exceptional.

What are some of your favourite places in Brantford to bring family and friends in the fall and winter?

Harmony Square is a popular gathering place located in the heart of Brantford's downtown at 89 Dalhousie St. Visitors can enjoy special events and programs throughout the year, including skating on the outdoor ice rink during the winter months.
