Where do you shop for home décor items in Brantford?

“For furniture, the showroom at Dal’s Home Furnishings on Lynden Rd. is worth the drive. It’s a gorgeous place with even better people. I’m also obsessed with Your Home Your Story on Brant Ave. They are one of my favourite places in Brantford to find pampas grass and unique home décor items.”

What are some of your favourite clothing or accessories shops in Brantford?

"I’m so impressed by the new businesses that have popped up and the existing businesses that have creatively pivoted during the past year. Alt Boutique is a Brantford-based online boutique that has great selection of outerwear and accessories – the owner Justin knows fashion better than anyone. For kids clothing and accessories, I love to visit Megs & Clarke on King George Rd."

What are some of your favourite hidden gems in downtown Brantford?

Brantford Blooms Florist on Colborne St. is the most beautiful store with the greatest vibe. They offer gorgeous hand-tied bouquets, seasonal planters and a great selection of succulents to gift yourself or a loved one. While I’m downtown, I also love to stop by Jamrock Jerk on Dalhousie St. to pick up a bite to eat.”

Where are your go-to places to shop for gifts in Brantford?

Finders Keepers on King George Rd. is a boutique and DIY studio that has so many amazing gift ideas – all locally sourced too. My daughter and I also love taking trips to Wylde Rose Handmade Soaps, which is a short drive down the road from Finders Keepers, to pick up fun bath bombs and gifts for friends.”

Are there any local makers or artisans that you want to tell us about?

Em Gabriel Art is a fantastic potter who brings so much light and creativity to her work. She’s a member of the Brantford Potters Guild and some of her pieces can also be purchased at Wylde Rose Handmade Soaps. I have this amazing little ShopBrantford.com pin that Kim Clark made for me, too – I love her creations. I also really love and appreciate the work that zBTFD does to highlight and support our local community.”

zBTFD is a Brantford-based artist-run storefront located at 433 Colborne St. Owners Chris George and Amanda Mersereau work closely with local artists to help create a unique selection of clothing that represents the community. You can also find some of their best-selling items for sale at the Brantford Visitor & Tourism Centre at 399 Wayne Gretzky Pkwy.
