Discover Brantford Visitor Guide

Welcome to Brantford

Situated on the beautiful Grand River in the heart of southwestern Ontario, Brantford has all the major amenities of a big city with the charming feel of a small town.

Sports lovers can enjoy watching the Brantford Bulldogs hockey or the Brantford Red Sox baseball, depending on the season, or get outside for a round of golf at the Walter Gretzky Municipal Golf Course. Outdoor adventure enthusiasts will delight in our 70km of trails for hiking or biking, with the Hub of Ontario trails connecting us to Hamilton, Cambridge, Paris, and Port Dover. Pick up a paddle and escape to the Grand River, a designated heritage river, and explore by canoe, kayak, stand-up paddle board, or river raft.

We also have a bourgeoning arts and culture scene, with yearly festivals, numerous museums, and special events all year round. Discover our heritage with a visit to the Bell Homestead National Historic Site, the place where Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone in 1874. In the summer of 2024, a number of special events are planned to celebrate the 150th anniversary of this invention that’s made it to the modern era.

Whether it’s for a special event, daytrip, or weekend stay, we’re excited to welcome you to Brantford this year!
