A Guide to the Grand River Arts Festival
Looking for a fun weekend filled with art, music, theatre and creativity? The Grand River Arts Festival returns to Brantford on September 18-19, 2026, transforming the beautiful grounds of Glenhyrst Art Gallery of Brant into a vibrant celebration of local and regional talent.
Friday, September 18 | 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The festival begins with the ticketed Evening Prelude, a 19+ licensed opening night experience featuring live music, art, fire pits, a candlelit stage, food, and drinks. Award-winning Canadian musician Danny Michel will headline the evening, with The Jesse Murphy Band opening. Tickets are $40 and include your first drink, with the beautiful Glenhyrst Gardens illuminated for the evening. Purchase tickets online.
Saturday, September 19 | 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The main festival day is free and family-friendly, with a full day of art, live music, theatre, food and interactive activities. Spend the day browsing the work of 65+ artists and exhibitors, with original creations ranging from paintings and ceramics to textiles, jewellery and woodwork. A new Young Artist’s Market will also showcase makers ages 12-18.
You can also enjoy live music on the festival grounds throughout the day, featuring talented regional and Canadian performers. Theatre lovers can also catch the popular 10 Minute Play Competition, featuring 17 original performances on the Coach House Stage. Lastly, live performance art throughout the grounds with event partner, Big Cityyy Arts.
Why not make a day of it? Stop by Culture Days on the Trails, located near the lower parking lot at Glenhyrst Art Gallery of Brant, on Saturday, September 19, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and then head up the hill to the Grand River Arts Festival to continue the fun.
