Top things to do in Brantford this Fall
Crisp mornings, colourful trails, cozy experiences, and plenty of things to do! Fall is one of the best times to explore Brantford.
Take in the Fall Colours
There’s no better time to get outside and explore Brantford’s trails and parks. Grab a coffee, lace up your walking shoes, and enjoy the spectacular reds, oranges, and yellows of the trees. Some great spots to check out include Mohawk Park, the Grand River Loop, Glenhyrst Art Gallery of Brant, the SC Johnson Trail, Wilkes Dam, Waterworks Park, Cockshutt Park, D’Aubigny Creek Park, and the Bell Homestead National Historic Site.
Tee off at Walter Gretzky Municipal Golf Course
Squeeze in a few more rounds at Walter Gretzky Municipal Golf Course before the season winds down. The mature 18-hole championship course features large greens, contoured fairways and a full pro shop, while Wally’s Grill and Patio offers a spot to relax and grab a bite after your round.
Catch a Brantford Bulldogs Game
Hockey season is back, and there’s nothing quite like spending a cool fall evening cheering on the Brantford Bulldogs. Grab your Bulldogs gear, bring your friends and family, and head to the TD Civic Centre for some Ontario Hockey League action. Check the Bulldogs schedule for upcoming home games and make a night of it by grabbing dinner downtown before or after the game.
Experience Brantford’s Arts & Culture
Fall brings a great lineup of arts and culture events to Brantford. The Grand River Arts Festival returns to Glenhyrst Art Gallery of Brant on September 18 and 19, featuring visual art, live music, theatre and performance art. Friday night kicks things off with a ticketed evening prelude, followed by a free, family-friendly day on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Culture Days on the Trails takes place on Saturday, September 19 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. along a 2.6 km section of the SC Johnson Trail (right behind Glenhyrst Art Gallery of Brant!). Enjoy free mini concerts and performances from local painters, musicians, and dancers along the route. Afterwards, head up the hill to check out the Grand River Arts Festival.
Enjoy a night out at Harmony Square & Sanderson Centre
Keep an eye on the Harmony Square Event Calendar for special events throughout the fall, including the annual Scare in the Square. For something a little less spooky, pair an evening downtown with dinner at one of Brantford’s local restaurants before catching a show at the Sanderson Centre for the Performing Arts. Check out the Sanderson Centre's fall lineup at sandersoncentre.ca.
Treat yourself to a Beer Bath
Lean into the cozy side of fall with a unique experience at Grand Wellness. Their popular Beer Soak combines hops, barley, and yeast in a warm bath for a relaxing, beer-inspired spa treatment. Prefer something more traditional? Grand Wellness also offers massages and other wellness treatments, making it an easy way to slow down and enjoy a little self-care this season.
